ELECTING GUN SAFETY CANDIDATES AT BOTH THE FEDERAL & STATE LEVELS IS KEY TO ENDING GUN VIOLENCE

Philadelphia, PA—CeaseFirePA Action, Pennsylvania’s leading gun violence prevention organization, has endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for President along with 89 gun safety champions for PA State Representative.

Vice President Harris has been an integral part of the strongest gun safety Presidential Administration in U.S. History. Notably, she has led the newly-created Office of Gun Violence Prevention, which has helped cut violence across the country through strategic investments in violence prevention programs, crafted an emergency response program to mass shootings, and led a whole-of-government approach to save lives from this public health crisis.

“Pennsylvanians want to live free from gun violence. And Vice President Kamala Harris will continue the historic work of the Biden-Harris Administration to make that a reality,” said Adam Garber, CeaseFirePA Action’s Executive Director. “In Philadelphia, gun homicides are down 50% in the last two-years. In Pittsburgh they’ve dropped 36%. That’s the work that Vice President Kamala Harris will continue as President.”

But we are aware that even Vice President Harris cannot do this work alone. That’s why we must expand our gun safety majority in the PA House, and build a federal-state partnership to end gun violence.

Therefore, CeaseFirePA Action is also endorsing 89 gun safety champions to represent nearly half of the PA House districts. CeaseFirePA Action’s Executive Director Adam Garber said, “Our children, friends and neighbors’ lives are on the ballot this fall. We will vote like it.”
